How to Create a Japanese Alter Ego

Konnichiwa! If you feel that you could use a little japan in your life, then this is the how-to for you!

Steps

  1. Generate a personality. Are you super fun? Are you grumpy and serious? It's all up to you! Just make sure it's something you could and want to do daily.
  2. Find a name. Whether it's from a manga or you Google Japanese names, make sure it goes with your personality.Think about the meaning of this name, whether last of first.Make sure it suits you.
  3. Consider learning Japanese. Every time you see somebody, say konnichiwa and every time somebody helps you say arigatou, or even domo arigatou if you want to be extra polite.
  4. Buy a wardrobe for yourself. For example if you're super fun, have neon colors, funky socks, bright accessories, and one or two traditional kimonos. (if you are actually visiting Japan)
  5. Use your alter ego with anybody who meets you.
  6. Make comics, write books, animate animes, just make yourself popular. Use common Japanese words in your work. If you want, you can make yourself more renown by saying that it's by your character.
  7. If you're a child, have your parents know what's going on. Tell them that you're tired of being yourself, and would like to pretend that you're somebody else for a while. Then too.
Tips
  1. Dressing like Anime characters every day may not go so well.
  2. If you go to Japan, you have to learn manners. Some people are very strict.
  3. Try dyeing your hair funky colors.
  4. Always go by your Japanese name.

How to Create an Alter Ego

Steps

  1. Think about one or more things you wish to do with your life. Your alter ego will have accomplished these things (e.g. your alter ego became a fashion designer)
  2. Think of one above-and-beyond accomplishment for your alter ego character (e.g. your designs were featured in New York fashion week)
  3. Make sure you and your character share the same interests (e.g. you like to play guitar, so does your alter ego)
  4. Give your character your personality.
  5. Paint a picture in your head of what you want your alter ego to look like, if this doesn't work try drawing your character.
  6. Think of a name for your character. Your favorite name, or the meaning of something you value in another language.
  7. Create a world for your alter ego. Include places and characters from shows you watch or books you've read.
  8. Include characters based on your friends and family.
  9. Create other characters that work with or are friends/family with your character.
  10. Chronicle your character's every day life!
